Our Curriculum at Phoenix Kids Club: The Creative Curriculum
At Phoenix Kids Club, we proudly use the Creative Curriculum, a nationally recognized, research-based curriculum designed to support the whole child—socially, emotionally, physically, cognitively, and academically.
The Creative Curriculum is built on the understanding that children learn best through hands-on experiences, exploration, and meaningful play. Rather than focusing only on worksheets or memorization, this curriculum encourages children to actively engage with their environment, ask questions, solve problems, and build confidence through discovery.
What the Creative Curriculum Looks Like in Practice
In our classrooms, learning is intentional, structured, and joyful. Teachers carefully plan activities based on children’s developmental stages, interests, and individual needs. Daily learning includes:
-
Language and literacy development
-
Early math and problem-solving skills
-
Science, social studies, and exploration
-
Social-emotional learning and self-regulation
-
Fine and gross motor development
-
Creative expression through art, music, and movement
Children learn through guided play, small-group instruction, hands-on projects, and real-life experiences—allowing them to make meaningful connections and develop a genuine love for learning.
Why the Creative Curriculum Is So Important
The Creative Curriculum places a strong emphasis on social-emotional development, which is critical during early childhood. Children learn how to communicate their feelings, build relationships, manage emotions, and develop independence—skills that are just as important as academic readiness.
This curriculum also allows for individualized learning, meaning children are supported at their own pace while still being challenged appropriately. Teachers observe, assess, and adjust instruction to meet each child where they are, ensuring no child is rushed or left behind.
Why Phoenix Kids Club Chose the Creative Curriculum
We chose the Creative Curriculum because it aligns perfectly with our mission to provide high-quality, flexible, and developmentally appropriate care. It supports children from diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and abilities, and it allows us to maintain consistency across our early learning and aftercare programs.
Most importantly, the Creative Curriculum prepares children not only for school—but for life. It builds confident learners who are curious, capable, and emotionally secure.
At Phoenix Kids Club, our goal is to nurture well-rounded children in a safe, supportive environment while partnering with families every step of the way. The Creative Curriculum allows us to do just that—by honoring childhood, encouraging growth, and setting a strong foundation for lifelong learning.

Homework Assistance Program for School-Aged Children
At Phoenix Kids Club, we understand that school-aged children need more than just a place to go after school—they need consistent academic support, structure, and encouragement. Our Homework Assistance Program is designed to help students stay on track academically while building confidence, responsibility, and positive study habits.
Structured Academic Support
Each school day, children enrolled in our program participate in a designated homework assistance period led by trained staff who provide guidance, supervision, and individualized support. During this time, children are encouraged to complete school-assigned homework in a calm, focused environment. Our team helps students understand instructions, organize assignments, manage their time, and develop problem-solving strategies—without doing the work for them.
The goal of our program is not just homework completion, but comprehension and independence. Children are supported in learning how to approach tasks thoughtfully, ask for help when needed, and take pride in their academic progress.
Educational Refresher Activities When Homework Is Not Assigned
We recognize that not every school day includes homework. On days when a child does not have assigned homework, Phoenix Kids Club provides educational refresher tasks to ensure learning continues in a meaningful way. These activities are age-appropriate, engaging, and aligned with core academic skills such as:
-
Reading comprehension and literacy
-
Math fluency and problem solving
-
Writing practice and vocabulary development
-
Critical thinking and logic activities
These refresher tasks help reinforce classroom learning, prevent skill regression, and keep children academically engaged—without adding unnecessary pressure or workload.
Educational Refresher Activities When Homework Is Not Assigned
Our Homework Assistance Program is intentionally designed to balance academics with enrichment and recreation. After completing homework or refresher activities, children transition into supervised free play, enrichment activities, or group projects that promote creativity, teamwork, and social development.
This balance helps children remain motivated and reduces burnout, ensuring learning remains positive and productive.
Support for Families
Our program also supports families by reducing the stress of evening homework routines. Parents can feel confident knowing their child has had dedicated time and support to complete assignments or engage in educational reinforcement before heading home. This allows families to spend quality time together in the evenings without the added pressure of unfinished schoolwork.
Building Lifelong Learning Habits
Through consistency, encouragement, and structure, Phoenix Kids Club’s Homework Assistance Program helps children develop essential skills such as responsibility, organization, focus, and self-confidence. These skills extend beyond the classroom and prepare children for long-term academic success.
At Phoenix Kids Club, we partner with families to support each child’s educational journey—ensuring learning continues, even after the school bell rings.
